Policy Analysis as a Regional Imperative for Good Governance.

Policy Analysis as a Regional Imperative for Good Governance.

The regional imperative (as described in class) is a concept that problem-solving or government should be doing problem-solving as a result of regions and can be used to organize data, analysis and problem solving around those around regions instead of government. The function of government should be to work within regions at all levels within the region to address critical issues that are tied together through environmental population and economic systems.

To address the policy imperative we need to use policy analysis for problem-solving at a regional level.

To address policy analysis we have two responses. We can create new forms of government that are centered on regional problem-solving and policy analysis or we can use those analyses at the regional level to create databases and research that compels action by governments.

Answer the following questions:

1) What are the three levels of regional models and analysis identified in class?

2) Describe one regional issue you believe should be identified as part of a regional imperative (for good governance) and describe.
