The World of Wine
The purpose of this exercise is to make you familiar with the world of wine. For each type of wine presented in the column at left, list the principal type of grape and include some notes about intensity of the wine. I have started the table, so that you can see what I am after. I have restricted the table to France, Italy and Spain (okay, I included New Zealand too), because in other wine regions the grape variety is typically on the bottle and if you know your French, Italian and Spanish wines, you can pretty much figure out how it is going to taste (the exceptions might be Zinfandel and Shiraz).
