Long-term memory

According to Alison (2007), long-term memory is divided into the declarative also called explicit memory and procedural or implicit memory. The declarative memory is associated with “knowing what” is right and is thus known as the memory of facts. These are the memories which can be easily and consciously recalled without exerting a lot of mental efforts. The information contained in this memory is explicitly stored and retrieved. The memory is further subdivided into semantic and episodic memories.
