Interview Process, science assignment help
The interview that I chose for this week’s discussion was the interview of the special agent who was up for promotion. I found several things wrong with this interview on the interviewers part. The interviewer was unable to focus on the topic at hand and did not ask any probing questions. The interviewer was talking only about her personal experiences and did not care what the other special agent had to say about his accomplishments. The interviewer also did not maximize the information that was obtained which according to Colwell, Hiscock, & Memon, (2002) is important in interviewing and obtaining information. One of the good things I did notice was that the person being interviewed for the promotion maintained his composure and attempted several times to redirect the conversation back to what it was intended to be. The interviewee also noted his accomplishments as the point of the interview was to see if he would be eligible for promotion. He stayed on topic and focused solely on the facts. Despite the interviewer being somewhat derogatory in that she was somewhat insulting him, the special agent stayed focused on his goal.
