Bioethics

As health professionals, we are faced with bioethical issues and challenges on a daily basis, many of which are quite controversial.  Some of these issues have had such a tremendous impact on our society that they have helped shape the dynamics of our legal and health care system.  For this assignment, discuss the current bioethical issues related to three aspects of the life cycle: beginning of life, sustaining and improving quality of life, and death and dying.  For each category (i.e, beginning of life, quality of life, end of life), please choose one issue as your focus:

c. Withdrawing/Withholding Treatment4. Identify and describe one bioethics issue in your lifetime that engendered sufficient media attention to warrant political involvement. The issue can be related to any of the three categories of bioethics addressed in your paper. Discuss the parameters of that bioethics issue and what role the political environment played in shaping the issue’s outcome. Did you agree with the outcome? Why or why not?

Your assignment should be three- to four- pages (excluding title and reference pages) and utilize at least three scholarly sources (not including your textbook), formatted according to APA guidelines as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
